A deep alluvial gold-washing sluice pit, permanently watered, providing many habitats for native animals, including eastern water rat, squirrel glider, water snakes and skinks. Known birds are kingfisher, rainbow bird, coots, reed warblers, herons, grebes and ducks. It contains Blakely's Red Gum (E. blakleyi) on the flats, surrounded by a woodland of But But (E. bridgesiana), Long-leaved Box (E. goniocalyx), Red Box (E. polyanthemos), and Red Stringybark (E. macrorrhyncha).
